The first lecture in the “Cyprus Cartography Lectures” series delivered in Nicosia in October 1991 by the late Helen Wallis, then president of the International Map Collectors Society (IMCoS) and Map Curator of the British Library (1924–1995). It includes a historical survey of cartographic tradition and a commentary on Cyprus’ cartographic representations from Medieval times to the 19th century.
