The Cradle of the Olympic Games

This sumptuous publication of multifaceted significance includes:
a.) One volume devoted to Olympia giving an account of the historical development of this sacred site from the end of the Neolithic to the Roman Period. The archaeological texts have been contributed by Xeni Arapogianni, PhD (Archaeology), Inspector of Antiquities, Ancient Olympia.
b.) A codex of the thirteenth century with 14 of the Odes of Pindar from the Iveron Monastery on Mount Athos, in facsimile reproduction.
c.) A volume containing summaries of the Odes and their palaeographic transcription, details of the life of Pindar and a text by the Abbot of the Iveron Monastery. Professor Agamemnon Tselikas had overall responsibility for the volume.
